Since I wanted an alternative to my current lunch routine (Daily Cut), decided to give Ice Queen a shot.
The Ice Queen used to be a nitro ice cream shop at Katong but it has since closed down and re-opened at Raffles.
It is located the same area as The Daily Cut at the basement. When I arrived, I realised there was no seating available. It was a takeaway protein salad store, whereby you place your order and collect your food when they call out your given number.
So here is the menu:
I must say I am pretty impressed with the amount of varieties they offer. They also have pretty interesting selection such as buckwheat waffle and whiffle-egg (egg white waffle with cheese, mushrooms and spinach).
They comes in 3 different sizes. I couldn’t decide which mains to get cause there are so many options so i ordered the large:
- Salmon
- Chicken breast
- Truffle scramble egg
- Cauliflower rice
- Sous vide egg
- Broccoli
Cost: $13.40
Waiting time:
Long waiting time (20mins) as they have to manually blow torch each servings of meat.
The large was about the medium size of Daily Cut. Here is a comparison of Ice Queen Large vs Daily Cut Large:
Overall taste was pretty good! The chicken breast was juicy, tender with hint of charred taste from the torching, and the salmon was not too dry. I love that they add hollandaise sauce on top of it. Truffle egg was so so good! Love its watery consistency and they were pretty generous with the amount of truffle.
Cauliflower rice was pretty decent, it makes a good carbs combination with the rest of the protein as it was slightly damp so overall wouldn’t taste too dry.
I will wouldn’t mind going again for that price. Definitely a go-to for cheap, good, clean meals.
